The Shield contains a cucumber fragrance oil. It's not a natural extract and we're not going to describe it as one — it's an added fragrance, and it's the only product we sell that has one. It's mild, but you'll smell it.
If fragrance on your face is a dealbreaker, buy the essentials instead. They're the routine we'd recommend anyway, and neither of them carries a synthetic scent. We'd rather tell you now than have you find out at the sink.

Yes. It contains a cucumber fragrance oil — an added synthetic scent, and the only one in our lineup. It's mild but noticeable. The Reset has no scent and The Quench has only a light citrus note from orange peel, so if fragrance is a problem for you, those two are the routine to buy.
It's oil-based, so it's the richest thing we sell. That's what a sealing layer is — if it absorbed instantly it wouldn't be doing its job. Use a small amount, and use it on the days your skin actually needs it.
No. The Quench adds moisture; The Shield holds it in. Used on its own there's nothing underneath for it to seal, and you'd end up with an oil layer over dry skin.
It's an oil-based cream, so if you're acne-prone or oily, this is the one product of ours we'd tell you to be cautious with. Start on dry patches rather than your whole face, and there's a 30-day refund if it doesn't work out.
